When you link an article to a page layout, it obtains a geometry (page layout).
This link is created from Fred4 on the Pages main tab, or from i4. Ted4 users on the Articles main tab cannot create such links - they can only assign articles to pages.
The link with layout can be created on the Pages main tab in Fred4:
•Before the Ted4 user starts writing and editing text on the Articles main tab.
•While the writing is in progress.
•After the text editing work on article is finished.
Once the article is linked to a page, the Ted4 user on the Articles main tab can review (but not change) the page layouts (frames, column layout, threading sequence, or other design elements; these are set up in Fred4). Yet, Ted4 users can edit content, or change formatting, unless the article gets locked and protected against further modifications in Ted4.
When an article is linked to a page, users can write or edit content to fit, or apply automatic copy fitting functions within the formatting limits, established by customized workflow.
