Gap between editorial hole horizontal edge and ad

The inner horizontal edge of an editorial hole over a horizontal split or above corner ads is typically aligned to the ad, minus the layer nudge.

E.g, if the layer nudge is 10pt, the distance between the editorial hole and the ad will be 10pt.

If the layer nudge is 0, the hole will touch the ad.

This gives you the possibility to change the editorial holes dimensions based on the layer gutter.

Gap between editorial hole vertical edge and ad

The inner vertical edge of an editorial hole over a vertical split or on corner ads is typically aligned to the closest column gutter. If the ad width is not aligned to the grid, the width of the slices will still follow the grid (see the right part of the next screenshot), leaving a gap between a slice and the ad.
