About media size in soft proof

For the soft proof printing, Fred4 uses the print preset with reserved name Default.

Fred4 uses the same print preset for any page size. In case you produce pages of different dimensions (some tabloid, some broadsheet, some magazine format and so on), some page sizes may print incorrectly, as you can specify only one media size in any preset. However, there are two personal preferences that handle that. To find and set those preferences, on the Edit menu, click Preferences, and then click the Extra tab:

Tick, if you want that paper is auto-adjusted on the page size when printing to PDF, whether the paper size is bigger or smaller than the page size. Recommended: ticked.

Auto-adjust paper to page size only if paper is smaller

Tick, if you want that paper is auto-adjusted on the page size when printing to PDF, only when the paper, selected in the print config, is smaller than the page size.

This assumes the paper dimensions of the Default print preset is set to the biggest page size. The smaller pages will display the soft proof with excessive margins.
