About content length flexibility

APM works the best with the predictable content lengths. Having said that, APM is also able to handle the ranges of depths, by means of the fitting procedures.

E.g., if the shape body frames can accept exactly 1543 characters, the first article whose body measures 1543 characters will perfectly fit and therefore will be chosen for that shape. However, you cannot expect you will often have such perfect matching. And here the typographical fitting comes into a game. It gives you the necessary length flexibility.

The following table shows the range of lengths with applied fitting (considered as acceptable by the given print product): please note that it fits the content in length spread from 1339 to 1746 average characters, or approximately 23% of spread.
